cycling through luoping flower fields

"The moonlight of March and May is new, and this is the spring of Luoping."

The end of winter, the beginning of spring.

And we

have been cycling all the way.

On February 3rd, an epic blockbuster "First Day of Work 2017" was released in major cities across the country and is currently a hit.

While self-reflecting, the editor saw @Shumu Family's sports circle and got excited: The rapeseed flowers in Luoping have bloomed!Cycling in Luoping, weaving through the rapeseed fields, pretending to be a butterfly, wantonly flirting with the spring colors. Just thinking about this scenery instantly revives me.

Cycling the Luoping rapeseed flower loop.

A fellow cyclist said that along the entire Luoping rapeseed flower route, the flowers bloom early at the foot of Jinjifeng Mountain, while other areas are still blooming. With over 20 acres of rapeseed flowers, there are definitely differences in blooming times. Therefore, we need to plan our route to encounter the flowers at their most beautiful moments.

Luoping, located in Qujing, Yunnan Province, is in the eastern part of the "Peacock Province." It features typical Yunnan terrain, with countless small peaks and basins, which is quite different from the rapeseed flower scenery of the Chengdu Basin. Every year at this time, it attracts a large number of photographers with their long lenses.

Luoping also boasts a stunning waterfall: the Jiulong Waterfall Group. It was listed in National Geographic's "Beauty of China" selection. For cyclists from the north or coastal areas, karst landscapes are a familiar memory from high school, and Luoping is a typical karst landscape. Its peak forest is beautiful, and compared to the Xingwen Stone Forest, Luoping has a more aristocratic vibe.

Day One

Depart from Luoping Railway Station (long-distance transport, reliable train shipping) and head directly to Jinjifeng.

Of course, we need to get to Kunming first, then take a train to Luoping. Previous cyclists said: You don't need to pack your bike at the train station, just push it in, and it turns heads. First, go to Jinjifeng, where you can camp in the rapeseed fields and watch the sunset. This hill is popular because you can take aerial shots of the endless rapeseed fields and capture the misty sunrise and sunset glow.

Day Two

Jinjifeng -- Jiulong Waterfall -- Duoyi River.

Aerial view of Jiulong Waterfall.

This journey is all about enjoying the flowers, hiking, and cycling at a leisurely pace, setting your own rhythm. With natural air intake and a 360° open view, it's not just powerful, but what other words can you use to describe it?

Wild scenery outside Duoyi River.

Day Three

Duoyi River -- Shiwan Dashan -- Luoping County.

Shiwan Dashan.

The entrance fee for Jiulong Waterfall is quite expensive, 70 RMB; some say Duoyi River is just average. The editor believes that the wildflowers and wild scenery along the road are more captivating. For cyclists, it depends on personal preference. Shiwan Dashan is a typical mountain range of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, with some slopes. How to climb it specifically, check out the pictures below. After crossing this mountain, you'll enter another sea of flowers.

PS:

Some heroes worthy of the editor's admiration during the Spring Festival.

I really want to cycle with you in the snow, but it doesn't snow in my world.

We're in the same city, but we've never taken such a cycling photo together. Next time, call me.

The editor, who has never tried off-road cycling, tearfully asks for guidance from the heroes.

Shenzhen is indeed warm. Let's welcome the new year with our love for cycling.

Hello! Are you Little Red? I'm Little Yellow.

Beautiful photos of Luoping provided by cyclist @Yimi (Shanghai).
