undaunted by wind and rain keeprunning kailas flyknit lightweight jacket

In recent years, with the growing enthusiasm for outdoor sports, the brand Kailas has become increasingly well-known in the outdoor field. Now, in terms of scale, reputation, sales, channels, and technical capabilities, it is one of the largest outdoor brands in China. The product we are reviewing today is the 2018 spring new Kailas Flyknit Lightweight Jacket (Item No: KG110226). Let's watch an official promotional video to learn more about it.

For this review, I chose the M size, which corresponds to 170/92B.

The reviewer is 173 cm tall and weighs 73 kg. The jacket appears slightly large when worn, for your reference.

This product is positioned as lightweight, weighing only 366g, which is indeed very light.

The product uses Kailas' proprietary FILTERTEC-2.5L technology fabric. This ultra-lightweight small grid fabric has a semi-transparent texture, dense yarn, excellent windproof and waterproof performance, and emphasizes "the more you move, the more breathable it becomes."

Because the product has a rainstorm-proof level, and with the unpredictable rain in hot weather, the tester used mineral water to test its waterproof performance. Regardless of the amount of water, the outer layer of the jacket effectively repelled water intrusion.

It only formed small water droplets on the surface, which could be shaken off easily.

The product uses Cordura Fly Shuttle technology for abrasion-resistant fabric, featuring seamless waterproof weaving, integrated molding, and resistance to abrasion and tearing, which is a significant advantage in outdoor sports.

The inner layer of the product uses 3D bionic structure technology, keeping the wearer dry and breathable, like a second skin, without sticking to the body.

The jacket features an integrated duckbill cap design with two-dimensional adjustment functionality, which maximizes protection against wind, snow, and rain without obstructing vision, ensuring user safety.

During regular exercise, the armpits are areas where sweat concentrates. The product has specially designed ventilation zippers under the armpits to further enhance breathability and keep the wearer dry, avoiding stuffiness.

The jacket has YKK pockets on both sides, which are also waterproof. The right pocket also serves as a storage pouch, making it easy to pack and carry.

The cuffs are designed in a horseshoe shape with adjustable Velcro, allowing you to adjust the tightness according to your activity, ensuring unrestricted movement.

The inner layer of the jacket has large capacity pockets on both sides, which I think can hold several pounds of buns without any problem.

The hem of the jacket also features an adjustable design, with hidden buttons for adjustment.

You only need to press the small triangle shown in the picture to adjust the hem.

I had been looking for a heavy rain to test the product, but recently the weather has been clear and hot. Today's test was conducted in 36°C high temperatures.

The jacket's appearance is impeccable—stylish, lightweight, and elegant.

There was no restriction while climbing; the design of each part of the jacket is quite reasonable.

During the test, I didn't open the ventilation zippers under the armpits. In the early stages with low intensity, it was fine. Despite the hot weather, I didn't feel too sweaty inside.

However, as the climbing intensity increased, sweat inside the jacket started to form beads due to delayed ventilation and began to flow out through the cuffs.

Since I was wearing a quick-dry short sleeve underneath, my arms were exposed. Despite the sweat, my arms didn't feel sticky.

Summary

Advantages:

Lightweight, the product weighs only 366 grams.

Excellent waterproof performance.

Attractive design.

Multiple storage pockets, convenient to use.

Disadvantages:

Breathability needs further improvement.

It is recommended to add an extra independent storage bag.

The inner pockets are too large; it would be better if they were divided into smaller pockets.

In conclusion, this Kailas Flyknit Lightweight Jacket has certain advantages in terms of waterproofing, abrasion resistance, windproofing, and even sun protection. Of course, today's testing conditions were quite harsh; in 36°C high temperatures, even wearing just a quick-dry T-shirt would make you sweat profusely. Based on the brand's extensive outdoor manufacturing experience and multiple proprietary high-tech technologies, the product performs quite well. After all, spring and autumn are its true stages, just like the brand's slogan, "Only for Climbing."
