never give up fresh foam zante pursuit review

A few days ago, I received the new NB Fresh Foam series running shoes, New Balance Fresh Foam Zante Pursuit, sent to me by the Codoon app. These running shoes, packed with NB's cutting-edge technology, truly impressed me.

After actually wearing them and doing a bit of research, I'd like to share my experience with everyone.

First, let's talk about the upper. The New Balance Fresh Foam Zante Pursuit focuses on being lightweight, using a Hypoknit upper. It's as comfortable as a sock shoe but also provides some support. The pattern on the upper is directed towards the toe, giving it a streamlined look. The breathability is excellent, and you can feel a refreshing breeze while running, which is very helpful for summer or long-distance runs.

Now, let's look at the main features of the New Balance Fresh Foam Zante Pursuit. Each shoe weighs only 212.4g, making it extremely lightweight. Wearing them feels almost like having no weight at all, providing a strong barefoot running sensation.

However, lightweight running shoes often get criticized for their cushioning, but these shoes use NB's big data cushioning technology. The Fresh Foam midsole is designed based on the gait and habits of different runners. The honeycomb structure fills the entire midsole, giving it a three-dimensional feel. The shape of the midsole is designed based on data collected from pressure mapping, dynamic capture, and contact load data. The concave outer side of the midsole aids in cushioning upon landing, while the protruding inner side enhances support and stability.

Although it also aims for high-performance cushioning, compared to Boost, it is much lighter. The use of laser engraving technology to reduce the midsole weight also significantly enhances the cushioning of these shoes. It is said that New Balance has even created different running simulation machines called RUNBOT based on various Fresh Foam models, embodying the concept of collecting runner data for optimization and upgrades.

From my experience wearing them with an 80kg body weight, the cushioning is quite good. It's not as soft as Boost but more elastic. The feedback from the arch and the ball of the foot is very comfortable while running, making it more suitable for runners who land on their midfoot or forefoot. The trial run on a rubber track felt good. I have to praise the breathability of these shoes; my feet stayed very cool throughout the run. Performance-wise, they are more suited for short-distance sprints, with quick rebound and no loss of energy, making fast runs feel very light while providing enough support.

In terms of appearance, these shoes seem to have discarded anything that would add weight, resulting in a very minimalist design. My pair is a combination of black and blue, but I think a solid color might look even better, giving a cleaner and more straightforward impression.

Summary:

Throughout the trial process, I personally feel that apart from the color scheme, which could be bolder, the material of the sole, weight, and wrapping performance of these shoes are outstanding compared to other running shoes in the same price range. They are very suitable for lighter individuals, daily walking, and light running. They can also fully meet the needs of indoor aerobic or anaerobic exercises. Of course, runners who enjoy the lightweight barefoot feel should also give these shoes a try.

Overall, the New Balance Fresh Foam Zante Pursuit's advantages are its extreme lightness and breathability, good rebound performance, and alignment with the functional positioning of the Fresh Foam series, 'Run without compromise.'
