the more you run the more beautiful you get and i believe in personal best in life

“Discover the world by taking the wrong path, discover yourself by taking the right one.”

In the show 'Qi Pa Shuo', there was a brilliant debate.

Li Dan, smiling, rebutted Huang Zhizhong, saying: “After participating in 'Qi Pa Shuo' for so long, I realized that there is a segment called 'Adding Value'. Whenever the debate gets more exciting, someone like Huang Zhizhong will appear and say, 'Do you think we are only discussing this topic? No, we are not.'”

Indeed, many meanings in life are given by ourselves, and marathons are no exception.

A marathon, 42.195 kilometers, on this distance.

Many people initially think that this is a distance they will never be able to run in their lifetime. But it turns into one departure after another, one finish line after another. Because of these repeated experiences, we start to call ourselves runners, and those around us affectionately call us 'gods'.

And because of these repeated enthusiastic departures and arrivals, people have told us to 'never forget our original intention'.

What is the original intention?

In this article, the answer I can give is precisely the slogan from my recent event in Guangzhou:The more you run, the more beautiful you become; life needs a PB.

Why do I say this?

In my view, running is very similar to life. We all hope to get better, more beautiful, and even faster. At least, this is what we hope for in our hearts and strive for.

In recent years, my experiences have all been related to running. On the plane back to Hangzhou from Guangzhou, the moment I closed my eyes, drowsiness and a flood of random thoughts came rushing in.

Ryunosuke Akutagawa once said, 'Delete any moment from my life, and I would not be who I am today.'

What does 'The more you run, the more beautiful you become; life needs a PB' mean?

I think it implies that without many experiences, without much energy, you meet someone you imagined, only to find that you have no shining points.

But the life we pursue is the moment and the result when you meet and appreciate each other, and finally, you are evenly matched.

Because of running, I started to believe that the people you meet are already decided.

If you want to meet someone you admire, you must possess qualities that others admire.Otherwise, even if you meet, you will just pass by each other.

If you want passion, you must be passionate. If you want sincerity, you must be sincere. If you want seriousness, you must be serious. If you want to be friends with fast runners, you must achieve a similar pace.If you want a rich life, you must be rich yourself.

In recent years, the friends I have made are all because of running, or more extremely, because I was pursuing a PB, I was fortunate to meet them.

Many things we don't do probably because we don't see the short-term benefits they can bring us.

Reading is like this, and so is running. I remember when writing about the Chicago Marathon, I looked up some information. The most interesting part was about when the marathon was first held in Chicago.

The mayor and citizens did not approve. They said that running was something only fools would do.

As it was held year after year, more and more people fell in love with running. That saying turned into, 'I still don't understand why I fell in love with this silly sport. Maybe because I am a fool, but I love my not-so-smart self now.'

I used to think that reading and running were useless, but I always remember a sentence from a book at inexplicable times, which helps me calm down.

When work and life become so oppressive that I can hardly breathe, I can still put on my running shoes and go out, on that road I have run countless times, to breathe, to run, to give myself a moment of peace.

Maybe many things are like this; their value can only be realized at some future moment.

I think that is my original intention. It was my initial naive start, not knowing why, but finding meanings and reasons in the process.

Just like most of the time we try to please others but forget to please ourselves, we must take root before we can bloom.

Thinking carefully, I have never been someone who can persist. Compared to the word 'persistence,' I am more of a person who goes with the flow and joins in the fun.
I liked what others liked, but I didn't learn many of the skills I wanted to master.
But despite not being able to persist in many things, I developed the habit of running. Most of the meaning of running cannot be reflected in work and life.
I can't choose to escape when work is troubling; I still have to do my job step by step. I can't choose to escape when my family needs me; I still have to face one trivial matter after another.

But running has always helped me a lot at unexpected moments.

The experience of completing a marathon taught me that when I receive a new job and feel clueless, I tell myself,“Just like when you first started running marathons, you didn't aim to run a marathon from the beginning. You can start with 5 kilometers, 10 kilometers.”
When faced with oppressive situations, I tell myself, “Do you remember the pain of the last few kilometers of your marathon and trail runs? Those painful moments later became sweet memories of growth.”
Because of these experiences and repeated departures, I began to believe that once you invest and make it a habit, even the most 'boring' things can still be enjoyable, and you will never tire of them. One day in the future, what shapes us will be the steps we have run, the books we have read, and the things we have done.

The most direct result is peace. You rarely see people who persist in enriching themselves complaining. They are not troubled by so-called fate because their hearts are already rich enough to give them confidence to cope with various bad environments.
Once you have such a peaceful heart, you can see many joys in life. The sky is broad for them, and they can see the blue sea and sky in the distance.
The more you run, the more beautiful you become; life needs a PB.
Why aim for a PB?

Because at the beginning, that was my original intention. It's not about achieving a specific PB time but about hoping to continuously break through and grow.

Because being immersed in that state is my only reliable sense of security for the future.

I run because deep down, I am not afraid of failure; I am afraid of stagnation.
I fear that life will become stagnant, and I fear that I will become stagnant with it. I fear that waiting is just self-deception and standing still.
So I train and improve myself to constantly break out of my comfort zone, to experience more, to break that stagnant self.

The more you run, the more beautiful you become; life needs a PB. I remember the moment when everyone gathered to start.

As long as you remain patient while waiting, enrich yourself, and become better than yesterday, you will be worthy of the person you want to meet.
Even if you don't end up with the person you initially wanted to be with, you haven't wasted that waiting period.
The key is to make yourself better while waiting, not to stay in place. Just like wanting a soulmate, you must first find your own soul.

I am Shen Wuzei, a lucky person who had the fortune to meet the people I wanted to meet because of running, receiving strength and warmth from them.

This made my life, the more I run, the more beautiful it becomes; life needs a PB.

Sorry to disappoint everyone, this is not a race report because our videographer Zuo Xiaoyou is still frantically editing the video. I wrote the race report too quickly, so I have to wait for him.
Tomorrow's race report will tell you about a girl who becomes more beautiful the more she runs, so beautiful that she bubbles... blood blisters.
